Executive Self Defense Curriculum

This curriculum is designed for the busy professional who is looking for the fastest track towards street readiness.  This curriculum consists of 50 lessons and 150 techniques that incorporate all aspects of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.  You will learn how to strike properly and effectively, defend against empty handed attacks, blunt weapons, edged weapons and even hand guns.  You will also learn how to take an attacker to the ground with practical throws that any body type can execute.  If you end up on the ground you will learn how to sweep (get on top of your opponent) and submit (subdue your opponent with a choke or joint manipulation).

These lessons are only taught in private or semi-private lessons.  The reason for this is because each lesson builds off of each other. This provides both the fastest and most effective method for learning self-defense.  Grand Master Helio Gracie himself always preferred teaching lessons privately because the instructor can both see and feel if the student is doing the techniques properly. This is very important in a martial art that is not just based on visual reflex but on feel and physical sensitivity to the opponent’s reactions.

Completion of the curriculum is entirely dependent on how often you take lessons. For example, by taking lessons once a week it will take approximately one year to complete, 2x per week approximately 8-9 months and 3x per week approximately 5-6 months. Each lesson is one hour in length and is broken down into three phases: technical review, technical instruction, and live resistance training. Upon completion of this curriculum you will earn your blue belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Grand Master Helio Gracie defined a blue belt as someone who can defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent in the street.
